Originally announced in 2016, the home invasion thriller Intrusion – which was scripted by Buried (watch it HERE) screenwriter Chris Sparling – finally went into production last year with Adam Salky (director of 2009’s Dare, starring Emmy Rossum, and 2015’s I Smile Back, starring Sarah Silverman) at the helm and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade) and Freida Pinto (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) in the lead roles. Now Intrusion is set to reach the Netflix streaming service on September 22nd, and a batch of first-look images have arrived online. You can check them out below to get an early glimpse of Marshall-Green and Pinto in character.
Intrusion is about
a woman who moves with her husband to a small town in Maine after a cancer scare and becomes the victim of a strange home invasion. She begins to uncover a darkness underneath her seemingly idyllic new life.
If you want a different synopsis, there’s also one that says Marshall-Green and Pinto’s characters Henry and Meera are
a husband and wife who move to a small town and suffer a home invasion that leaves the wife traumatized and suspicious that those around her might not be who they seem.
Sparling produced Intrusion with Russell Hollander, Creator Media Entertainment’s Kyle Benn, Sea Smoke Entertainment’s Josh Weinstock, EMJAG Productions’ Alexandra Milchan, and Outlaw Productions’ Matthew Myers.
Netflix should be giving us a look at a trailer for Intrusion pretty soon, but in the meantime these images and the synopses are all we have to go on. As I’ve said before, I’m a sucker for home invasion movies, so it’s already a given that I will be watching this at some point because I’ll watch any home invasion movie that crosses my path. Plus Marshall-Green and Pinto are great casting choices, so I’m looking forward to this one.
