Installments of the anthology series Into the Dark are usually released through the Hulu streaming service on the first Friday of the month, but an exception is made when New Year's Eve rolls around. Since each entry in the Into the Dark series is based around a holiday or special date that occurs in its month of release, Hulu usually likes to give subscribers a chance to watch the movies on that holiday / special date – so since the next installment is set on New Year's Eve, they're not going to wait to release that one on January 3rd. It's going to be available to view on December 27th.
This year's New Year's Eve installment of Into the Dark is called MIDNIGHT KISS, and it's directed by THE RUINS' Carter Smith from a screenplay by Erlingur Thoroddsen.
The synopsis:
A group of longtime gay best friends and their resident fruit fly head to a beautiful desert home to celebrate New Year's Eve. One of their annual traditions is to play MIDNIGHT KISS, a sexy but ultimately dangerous challenge to find that special someone to help you ring in the New Year. As friendships have grown strained with secrets, jealousy and resentment, the group faces another challenge when a sadistic killer wants in. Relationships are put to the test and truths are revealed as the night turns into a fight for survival.
MIDNIGHT KISS stars Augustus Prew, Scott Evans, Ayden Mayeri, Lukas Gage, Chester Lockhart, and Adam Faison.
I watch every Into the Dark movie, and I will definitely be ringing in the new year with this one. But while we wait for MIDNIGHT KISS's December 27th release to roll around, the Christmas installment A NASTY PIECE OF WORK can be watched on Hulu right now.
