Interview: Steven Caple Jr. and James Madigan Talk Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

It’s been a week (ish) since I hopped behind the wheel of a Porsche for the Transformers: Rise of the Beasts Porsche Driving Experience. The day was beyond exciting. And it was a thrilling and inventive way to promote the franchise sequel. Starring Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez, and Dean Scott Vazquez. It also features an impressive cast of actors giving voice to the actual Transformers themselves. The talent includes Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, Michelle Yeoh, and a scene-stealing Pete Davidson. At the event, we spoke with the film’s director, Steven Caple Jr., and second unit director, James Madigan. While at an event at the Porsche Driving Experience, they discussed the car’s connection with the film. James and Steven also talked about the casting of Pete Davidson and matching him with the vehicle in question. The two also opened up about just how much is practical and how much is CGI.

The two gentlemen were a delight to speak with, and if you still need to catch up, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is available on digital now. Look for the 4K Ultra HD Steelbook, the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and the DVD on October 10th. Read our review here!

The film has the following synopsis: Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet. When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth.
