Samuel L. Jackson’s has become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood. The award-winning actor has been on a roll since his memorable performances in PULP FICTION and JUNGLE FEVER. It was therefore no surprise, when Jackson got a call from acclaimed writer Frank Miller to recreate the part of a bad-ass villain in the forthcoming comic book film, THE SPIRIT.
Adapted from a series by Will Eisner, THE SPIRIT is based on the story of a murdered cop, Denny Colt, who becomes a masked crime fighter after he’s mysteriously reborn. His arch nemesis is a psychotic megalomaniac known as the Octopus, portrayed by Jackson. I sat down with the passionate actor last week to chat about his creative vision and ideas in transforming a pair of white gloves from the comic book, into an eccentric and comical villain. Check out what he had to say about his character, working with a green screen and first-time director, Miller.
