Paul Rudd may be one of the most charismatic actors working today. It is especially clear how likable he can be in his latest film, OUR IDIOT BROTHER. The story of a man who is just too kind and too honest for his own good happens to be one of the most endearing flicks to come out in quite a long time. And much of the film’s success should be credited to Mr. Rudd’s unforgettable work as Ned the idiot brother.
When I sat down with Paul we began talking about a connection we both share, we both went to the same school. So the conversation began with some of what you learn in acting school isn’t always that helpful in the real world. Next we talked about the film and this fascinating character Ned. Paul is nowhere near being an “idiot,” he is actually a very intelligent fellow, but he is also as kind as he could possibly be.
OUR IDIOT BROTHER opens this Friday, and it is definitely worth searching for.
