Interview: Michelle Yeoh Talks Everything Everywhere All at Once

Michelle Yeoh has had a brilliant career. Her work early on consisted of action features such as Supercop, Heroic Trio, and Tai Chi Master. She has been part of the 007 series with Tomorrow Never Dies. And then there is the timeless classic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and so much more. Yet her latest feature is unlike anything before. Everything Everywhere All at Once is a genre-bending tale of an average woman who becomes a superhero. How? By discovering a multiverse where there are many different versions of her life, with vast and various experiences she could have had. Directed by Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (Swiss Army Man), Everything Everywhere is a bold and outrageously original concept that deserves a proper big-screen viewing. And yes, Michelle Yeoh is stunning as the main protagonist.

We sat down with many of the players involved with this exuberant new film. Our original schedule was to speak with Yeoh and her co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis, all at once (get it). However, Zoom had other plans, and Michelle disappeared from the conversation. Thankfully, we were given a little more time with this talent. Michelle is warm, bright, and just an utter joy. She opened up about getting involved with this original ride. This wild feature contains the role that she’s waited for all her life, and it’s easy to see why. She discussed the family element of this film. She also praised her delightful co-star, Ke Huy Quan, who hasn’t been in acting since his childhood career with Steven Spielberg. Michelle Yeoh is a living legend. And it was an honor to speak with such a kindhearted and shockingly talented human being. Please see Everything Everywhere All at Once. It’s like nothing you’ve seen before.
