Interview: Lily Collins and Jesse Plemons Talk Windfall

In the new dramatic thriller Windfall, Jesse Plemons and Lily Collins play a wealthy couple who head to their vacation home for a break. When they arrive, they catch a thief (Jason Segel) who has broken into their home. While this may sound like a perfect setup for a horror flick, Windfall takes a very unique approach. This character-driven feature film, directed by Charlie McDowell, works as a small and haunting tale. It’s also occasionally funny, but also refreshing at how it deals with this subject matter thoughtfully. And it’s currently available on Netflix.

We recently spoke to the cast and filmmaker behind Windfall. And there are very few people that I enjoy chatting with more than the lovely and incredibly talented Lily Collins. Along with Jesse Plemons, the two opened up about taking on this small feature in the middle of a pandemic. Each member of the cast has a producing credit, and it is lovely to see creative people find an outlet for something like this during such a strange time. With only three cast members – plus a brief, but memorable appearance by Omar Leyva – Windfall is a fun and engaging take on the home invasion sub-genre. Check it out now, only on Netflix!
