In Don’t Make Me Go, a new feature from director Hannah Marks, John Cho portrays a single father who learns he has a brain tumor. Now this may sound like a bit of a downer, but this impressive feature is funny, charming, and wonderfully written. Credit that to a sweet script, and a couple of performances that absolutely shine. Both Mr. Cho and his excellent co-star, Mia Isaac, are both incredibly well cast. The chemistry they share is clear, and it only makes this dramatic feature all the more compelling.
We recently sat down with the filmmaker and the stars of the new drama. Having spoken to John Cho a few times in the past, I was particularly excited to speak to him about this. The roles that he’s been taking as of late have been particularly smart, and this is no exception. Yet it was nice to speak with both John and Mia Isaac. The two opened up about the road trip music, and taking on the story of a dying father and his teenage daughter. Don’t Make Me Go is a terrific little film that may not be on your radar, but if you are a fan of John Cho, or if you just like movies with a heart and soul, this is well worth your time. Available on Prime, beginning this Friday.
