Interview: Friends With Benefits stars Jenna Elfman and Patricia Clarkson!

While Jenna Elfman may be most recognizable for her work in the hit series “Dharma & Greg”, she has continually worked since then in television (“Accidentally on Purpose”) and independent film (“Love Hurts”). She returns to the big screen with Will Gluck’s sexy and sweet new comedy FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS. While it may be a comedy, it also features a very touching sub-plot with Jenna playing Justin Timberlake’s sister, and Richard Jenkins as their father suffering from Alzheimer.

Elfman is absolutely terrific in what could have been a throwaway role. And when we talked about the film, she spoke on the subject of dealing with such heavy material in a comedic feature. It was a pleasure chatting with Jenna, so much so that we even spoke after the interview about the frustration of playing board games with your spouse.

With a resume that includes work such as ALL THE REAL GIRLS, SHUTTER ISLAND, VICKI CRISTINA BARCELONA, THE STATION AGENT and of course, the remarkable HBO series “Six Feet Under”, you’d expect to find a great actress. And frankly, Patricia Clarkson is more than great; she is probably one of the most talented actors of her generation. She continues to shine as Mila Kunis’ mother in FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS.

While talking to Patricia, it is hard not to have a smile on your face. She is extremely funny and wonderfully charming. She spoke highly of FWB and of her character Lorna – a free-spirit who has not always made the right decisions in her life. Yet it seems that this amazing woman keeps making smart choices whenever she takes on a new role, no matter what film it is.
