A few months back, I had the opportunity to see a movie called Ghosted. It was in preparation to speak to the film’s director, Dexter Fletcher. At the time, I wasn’t aware of anything about the film, aside from it featured Chris Evans and Ana de Armas. And I was also very familiar with Dexter, both as an actor and a filmmaker as well. Yet when I watched the film, it was nothing like I’d expected from the opening first few minutes. Ghosted ended up being a wild, funny, and romantic adventure. The genre-mashing feature is a delight, and I recommend going in knowing as little as possible.
Sitting down for an extended chat with Mr. Fletcher was quite entertaining. We started off chatting about an early performance for the actor in The Rachel Papers, and then jumped into action. The discussion went into casting this project, and how that changed. Originally, Scarlett Johansson was scheduled to appear in Armas role. As well, the director talked about working on a film like this, after the recent Elton John musical, Rocketman. It was a lively chat with an intriguing fellow. And yes, Ghosted is something you’re going to want to check out. It’s a whole lot of fun, and it’s available to stream on AppleTV+ beginning this Friday. Look for our review later this week!
Ghosted has the following synopsis: Salt-of-the-earth Cole falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie — but then makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
