Andy Samberg is
known as one of the current not ready for prime time players on
“Saturday Night Live” who is getting his first shot at
comedic leading man status in the upcoming HOT
ROD. He portrays Rod
Kimble, a wannabe stunt man living in his fathers shadow and
constantly trying to gain acceptance from his a-hole step-dad.
Yet he seems to fail every single time all the while still
believing that he can be great. And
his salute to FOOTLOOSE as he goes to his quiet place is absolutely
amazing…or maybe just bizarre.
When I sat down
with Andy and we discussed his inner animal, he seemed to be much
more grounded than one would imagine.
His continued work with "The Lonely Island" along
with HOT ROD director Akiva Schaffer and co-star Jorma Taccone has
made YouTube.com a place to
look for comedy as does his work on SNL.
And now, taking on a role originally written for Will
Ferrell, he lets loose. And
you can check it out when HOT ROD opens this Friday.
