Today see’s the release of two new international trailers for both Brad Pitt’s KILLING THEM SOFTLY and Guillermo Del Toro’s MAMA. The former features Pitt as a mob enforcer/hitman on the trail of a pair of theives who robbed a card game, while the latter is a horror flick starring Jessica Chastain and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who are tasked with raising two feral children who may be haunted. Well, they are, let’s face it.
First up is KILLING THEM SOFTLY. Directed by Andrew Dominik, the thriller stars Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, Richard Jenkins, James Gandolfini, and Sam Shepard. It is set to be released on November 30, 2012.

Next is MAMA, the Guillermo Del Toro-produced horror film, directed by Andres Muschietti, and starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, which is set for release on January 18, 2013.

Both of these films look good for their respective genres. I’m most interested in KILLING THEM SOFTLY, but MAMA looks like a good scare fest that will benefit from Del Toro’s involvement and a goth-like Jessica Chastain. Between the two, I have a feeling they’ll each bring the necessary elements that make crime thrillers and horror flicks engaging.
