Back in June we learned that Kino Lorber had acquired the North American rights to the hit Sundance vampire tale A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT, and while we still haven't heard word as to when we can expect to see it hit theaters/VOD here, we've landed a new French trailer for the atmospheric flick that is quite intriguing.
The Iranian vampire tale marks the feature debut of director Ana Lily Amirpour which is said to be a joyful mash-up of genre, archetype, and iconography, its prolific influences span spaghetti westerns, graphic novels, horror films, and the Iranian New Wave.
Strange things are afoot in Bad City. The Iranian ghost town, home to prostitutes, junkies, pimps and other sordid souls, is a bastion of depravity and hopelessness where a lonely vampire stalks its most unsavory inhabitants. But when boy meets girl, an unusual love story begins to blossom… blood red.
The film stars Sheila Vand, Arash Marandi, Dominic Rains, Marshall Manesh, Mozhan Marnó and Milad Eghbali.
Here's hoping Kino Lorber will be announcing a release date for this one soon.
