It’s almost impossible to escape once you get involved with the mob, and if I were Emile Hirsch‘s Bobby Belluci, I’d start learning how to swim with the fishes. Vertical Entertainment proudly presents an Inside Man trailer depicting a bloody tale of deception, dangerous liaisons, and a disturbing body count. Based on actual events, Inside Man tells the story of Bobby Belluci, a disgraced police detective seeking redemption by going undercover to expose a violent crime syndicate. However, as Bobby sinks deeper into the mob, the price for absolution may be higher than he can afford.
Danny A. Abeckaser (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, First We Take Brooklyn, The Wolf of Wall Street) directs from a screenplay by Kosta Kondiloppulos (I Love Us, The Engineer). Taking place during the 1960s and 1970s, Inside Man stars Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars, Katy Keene), Jake Cannavale (Nurse Jackie, The Mandalorian), Ashley Greene (Twilight, Aftermath), Vincent Laresca (The Amazing Spider-Man, Lords of Dogtown), Kyle Stefanski (First We Take Brooklyn, Acts of Violence), Greg Finley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Cold Case), and Bo Dietl (The Bone Collector, Carlito’s Way) alongside Hirsch.
Inside Man comes to theaters and VOD on August 11, giving audiences two different opportunities to get fitted for cement shoes. The Inside Man trailer depicts a crime drama with familiar story beats. However, knowing the drama is based on actual events makes the overall presentation more nail-biting than most mob-related tales. Mixing it up with criminals in any capacity is dangerous enough, but getting involved with the mob is practically a suicide mission. Anything can and will go wrong at any time, exposing you and the ones you love to danger and, in extreme cases, a date with Death six feet under an unmarked grave. Bobby Belluci will need to use everything he’s learned to stay afloat in a group of criminals who will erase him if they get even a whiff of his deception.
