Man, this makes me rather irritated I won’t be attending the Toronto International Film Festival. Here’s the trailer for the Turkish horror number BASKIN, and it’s bloody crazy. NSFW, too, so make sure no one’s looking over your shoulder. It’s hard to even suss out what’s really going on in this flick, other than it kicks off when a small team of cops go someplace they really, really shouldn’t go. I’ll leave it at that and allow you to dive into the slime world of BASKIN at your own peril.
The plot:
Five cops, working the graveyard shift in the middle of nowhere are dispatched to investigate a disturbance. Isolated and without back up they find themselves confronting a labyrinthine ruin. Pushing ever further into the depths of the lair, it becomes clear they have stumbled into the darkest pits of a terrible evil.
BASKIN will have its world premiere at TIFF Friday, September 11th at 11:59pm. (It will screen four times after the premiere as well), and hopefully soon after we’ll have a review up for ya.
The film was directed by Can Evrenol and stars Gorkem Kasal, Ergun Kuyucu, Mehmet Cerrahoglu, Sabahattin Yakut, Mehmet Fatih Dokgoz and Muharrem Bayrak.
