Neon is getting ready to dip its toes back into dark waters with Brandon Cronenberg's Infinity Pool. Set to slap on a swimsuit and dive head-first into the sci-fi thriller is Godzilla vs. Kong star Alexander Skarsgård. Neon is co-financing and executive producing Cronenberg's latest psychological mind-job with Topic Studios. Plans are to release Infinity Pool in the U.S. while Elevation will take care of us Canadians. In addition to his starring role, Skarsgård will also executive produce.
Per Deadline, Infinity Pool follows James and Em, who are young, rich, in love, and on vacation. Their all-inclusive resort boasts island tours and gleaming beaches. But outside of the hotel gates lurks something much more dangerous and seductive, beyond the edge of paradise.
Cameras are scheduled to begin rolling on September 6. The film does not have a set release date at this time.
Skarsgård recently completed his part as Amleth for Robert Eggers' The Northman. Billed as an epic revenge thriller that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father, the upcoming film also stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Ralph Ineson, Ian Whyte, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, Claes Bang, Kate Dickie, Tadhg Murphy, Olwen Fouéré, and in a rare feature film appearance, my favorite musical artist of all time, Björk.
