Infinite: clip released for Mark Wahlberg sci-fi action-thriller

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

While the Mark Wahlberg-led, Antoine Fuqua-helmed big-budget sci-fi action-adventure-thriller Infinite came out over a week ago on Paramount+, the studio recently released this clip online (maybe to entice would be streamers who hadn't already checked it out yet)? In any case, if you were previously on the fence, and a scene with badly-CGI'd transforming spy cars is your thing, check out the video at the top of the article!

Anyway, here is the official synopsis:

Evan McCauley (Mark Wahlberg) possesses skills he has never learned and memories of places he has never visited which haunt his daily life. Self-medicated and on the brink of a mental breakdown, Evan is sought by a secret group that call themselves “Infinites,” revealing to him that his memories may be real–but they are from multiple past lives. The Infinites bring Evan into their extraordinary world, where a gifted few are given the ability to be reborn with their memories and knowledge accumulated over centuries. With critical secrets buried in his past, Evan must work with the Infinites to unlock the answers in his memories in a race against time to save humanity from one of their own (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who seeks to end all life to stop what he views as the cursed, endless cycle of reincarnation.

Look, I'll admit it, I'm not much of a fan of Mark Wahlberg or most of his films (in fact, some of his films – like the 2001 Planet of the Apes remake or M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening – are some of the worst mainstream films of their generation). And while he's had good performances in the past (Boogie Nights, The Departed), he's mostly been doing junk for a while (give or take a Pain and Gain, which even then wasn't amazing). And – gotta be honest – this clip and the previous trailer have not sold me on it (the reviews during the first week of release didn't help either). But, that's just me. I like action movies – even dumb ones – so if you enjoyed it, ain't nothing wrong with that, honest. Hell, it might be a good hangover movie one of these lonely nights. We'll see.

Meanwhile, Infinite – directed by Antoine Fuqua (Fast and Furious 8, Olympus Has Fallen) and starring Mark Wahlberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor (Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), Sophie Cookson, Jason Mantzoukas (How Did This Get Made podcast), Rupert Friend, Toby Jones, and Dylan O'Brien (Love and Monsters) – premiered exclusively on Paramount+ June 10th, and is available to watch right now!

So what do you guys think? Fans of Wahlberg for some reason? If so, somehow looking forward to this film? Either way, sound off below!
