Cue all the jokes about Harrison Ford's age. It is being reported by "Deadline" that the actor injured his shoulder rehearsing a fight scene for Indiana Jones 5. The extent of the injury is not yet known but the production will continue to shoot around him while the appropriate course of treatment is established.
In the following statement Disney said, "In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder. Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks." So far it looks like the film won't suffer any major delays which began production earlier this month in Pinewood and other U.K. locations.
In Indiana Jones 5, Harrison Ford is joined by Mads Mikkelsen, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson, and Thomas Kretschmann. James Mangold is replacing Steven Spielberg in the director's chair, although Spielberg is still serving as a producer on the project along with Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall, and Simon Emanuel. The film is slated to hit screens on July 29, 2022.
Harrison Ford appears to be in pretty good shape at the age of 78 so he'll probably recover from this injury in no time. However, this isn't the first time the actor has suffered an injury after reprising one of his iconic roles. Back in 2014, Ford suffered a pretty series injury when his leg was broken by a hydraulic door on the set of the Millenium Falcon spaceship while filming his return as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If he can get through that, I'm pretty sure he can get through this.
