Incredibles 2 tops Dory as Fandango’s Top Animated Advanced Ticket Seller

After 18 years of being in the movie ticket game, Fandango is now reporting that INCREDIBLES 2 has topped Pixar's FINDING DORY as the biggest earner of presale tickets for an animated film. The new superhero spectacle screened exclusively in Imax last night at 6 pm (the returns of that time slot remain unreported at this time) while standard previews bowed at 5 pm. Even with such momentous numbers rolling in, FINDING DORY still stands as the top Thursday animated preview with $9.2 million in returns.

In a Fandango survey of over 1,000 INCREDIBLES 2 moviegoers, 87% say they are fans of director Brad Bird; 85% have watched THE INCREDIBLES more than once, while 60% of them have seen it more than four times; 75% saw the first Incredibles on the big screen when it was first released in 2004; and 74% are particularly excited to see Samuel L. Jackson return as Frozone.

Quite obviously, the Incredibles franchise has an extensive install base. When you stop and think about it, fans have been asking for a follow-up to the original for well over a decade, and now that the sequel is meeting with rave reviews, it's no wonder that people are super excited! As of the moment, INCREDIBLES 2 is holding a 97% Fresh rating on the reviewer agrogate site Rotten Tomatoes and is looking to earn between $125 million to $140 million during its opening weekend.

So … what are you waiting for? Grab your super suit, hop in the car, and add to Pixar's coffers by embarking on yet another grand adventure with the Parr family. Haven't you waited long enough? Go on, treat yo self.
