Things have been quiet for the past year in regards to Jon Stewart's directorial debut, ROSEWATER, but it looks like may start to pick up as Entertainment Weekly has dropped a few images from production, as well as a theatrical release date (albeit a limited one) of November 7.
For those unaware, ROSEWATER tells the real-life story of journalist Maziar Bahari who went into Iran to the cover the 2009 presidential elections. Bahari was then arrested and interrogated for 118 days, having been accused of being a spy. The film is based on the memoir "Then They Came For Me: A Family’s Story Of Love, Captivity And Survival". Given that Stewart took a hiatus from The Daily Show last year to make this film, I'll be curious to see why he was so passionate to do so.
ROSEWATER will see a limited release on November 7, 2014.
