It's been a few months since we've heard word on Mac Carter's supernatural thriller HAUNT, with our last report on the film coming way back in October of last year when veteran actress Jacki Weaver (STOKER) joined the cast. Today that changes as we now have word that HAUNT has found a home with IFC Midnight who has picked up all US rights to the genre title, according to Screen Daily.
HAUNT centers around…
…a boy who gets involved with a mysterious neighbour when his family moves into a new home and unwittingly summons a demon.
The film also stars Harrison Gilbertson and Liana Liberato.
Andrew Barrer wrote the screenplay to the QED International, Rivergate Entertainment and Revolver Picture Company production. John Hegeman of QED and Nick Phillips of Revolver released a statement on the films' acquisition, saying…
“We are all thrilled that IFC Midnight has acquired US rights — they’re experts in the genre and really know how to build excitement for a terrifying supernatural thriller like Haunt."
No theatrical release date for HAUNT has been set as of this writing, but we'll keep you posted on news regarding the film as we hear it.
