IFC Midnight picks up Eric England’s Contracted

IFC Midnight has announced that they have taken the North American rights to Eric England’s infectious Cronenberg-esque thriller CONTRACTED.

We last told you about CONTRACTED back in May as the film was heading to Cannes to spread the infection. Produced by Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures, and starring Najarra Townsend, Caroline Williams, Charlie Koontz, Dave Holmes, and Ruben Pla, CONTRACTED tells the terrifying tale of…

…a young girl who has a one-night stand with a stranger, contracting what she thinks is a sexually transmitted disease, but it is actually something far worse. As things begin to crumble around her, she's sent on a disturbing and bloodcurdling journey, sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. With nail-biting suspense and frightening twists, CONTRACTED is a horror film for those who think they've seen it all.

I’m sure we can expect the standard issue release strategy – limited theatrical, VOD and then DVD – but there is no word of a release date yet. We’ll keep you posted on that news when we hear it.
