Eli Roth's debut film CABIN FEVER has already been bestowed with a remake, even though it was released relatively recently in 2002. There are people in high school right now who could have seen the original film and its remake in the theaters, if they had especially liberal parents. But aside from the incredulous reaction it received after it was announced, not much has been seen or heard from the reboot, save Eli Roth's comment that "It looks awesome – it’s a really fun movie. I’m happily surprised at how it’s turned out."
Luckily for the morbidly curious, CABIN FEVER will soon be emerging from its hermetic isolation thanks to IFC Midnight, which just acquired the rights to release the film. By next year, we shall all be made aware of just how good or bad an idea this film was, and the world can rest easy once more.
CABIN FEVER follows a group of five college graduates who rent a cabin in the woods and fall victim to a flesh-eating virus that attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.
The CABIN FEVER remake stars Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker, and Dustin Ingram, and is set to be released sometime in 2016.
