Idris Elba says that there’s a “big chance” Luther could return

Idris Elba BBC Luther

If you're looking for a new series to get into and haven't watched BBC's Luther yet, consider this my enthusiastic recommendation. Centering around the incredibly brilliant (aren't they all?) yet unorthodox (again) homicide detective DCI John Luther (Idris Elba), the BBC series juggles interesting characters and intriguing mysteries as well as seeing just how close Luther can get to stepping over the line. Consisting of just sixteen episodes spread over four seasons, Luther is a lot like BBC's Sherlock in that they're only able to get the gang together every so often.

The last season of Luther aired in December and was made up of only two episodes, leaving fans wondering just when Idris Elba and creator Neil Cross would find the time to return. While engaging in a Twitter Q&A with his fans, Elba revealed that there's a very good chance that Luther will indeed be back.

As Elba is quite the busy man, it's good to hear that he still has time for Luther; hopefully that will translate to more episodes in the future. During that same Twitter Q&A, Elba also revealed that he had completed filming on Nikolaj Arcel's THE DARK TOWER and that everything is coming together really well. The long awaited Stephen King adaptation is set for a February 17, 2017 release.
