Over the past week, we've seen studios put a halt on the production of feature-films and television series, as well as push back the release of just about every major film as the coronavirus continues to sweep across the globe. As viruses have little consideration for your race, gender, or economic status, people from all walks of life have been affected, including Hollywood celebrities.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the first A-listers to test positive for the virus, and now Idris Elba (THE SUICIDE SQUAD) and Kristifer Hivju (The Witcher) have also announced that they too have tested positive. The actors took to social media to share their news as well as a little advice on how to remain vigilant during this pandemic.
This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing ???????????????? No panic. pic.twitter.com/Lg7HVMZglZ

While production on THE SUICIDE SQUAD wrapped last month, production on the second season of The Witcher, in which Kristifer Hivju plays Nivellen, was well underway before Netflix elected to halt the shoot for several weeks. Netflix has said that they will be carrying out a "deep cleaning and disinfection" of the studio and production offices, and are also "in the process of contacting those who were in close contact with the relevant individual. However, due to the nature of this production, it is recommended that crew and cast self-quarantine for 14 days, monitor their temperature, and seek medical advice if they experience any symptoms." Stay safe, and feel better! Speaking of feeling better, it was also revealed today that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have left the hospital, but will remain under quarantine in a rented house in Australia.
