Dark Horse Entertainment and Netflix have inked a new multi-year deal to extend their partnership, and they took the opportunity to announce two new projects. One of those projects will find Idris Elba starring in an adaptation of Matt Kindt and Wilfredo Torres’ Bang! which will be directed by David Leitch.

The spy thriller deals with “a terrorist cult sets out to start the apocalypse with a series of novels meant to brainwash their readers, with the world’s most celebrated spy then being sent to track down and kill the author responsible.” Matt Kindt will write the screenplay for Bang! with Zak Olkewicz, who penned the script for David Leitch’s Bullet Train. Idris Elba will also produce Bang! alongside Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg for Dark Horse and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick for 87 North.

In addition to Bang!, Netflix is also developing a series adaptation of Mind MGMT, another comic series by Matt Kindt. The series revolves around a young woman who stumbles onto the top-secret Mind Management program. “Her ensuing journey involves weaponized psychics, hypnotic advertising, talking dolphins, and seemingly immortal pursuers, as she attempts to find the man who was MIND MGMT’s greatest success – and its most devastating failure,” reads the description. “But in a world where people can rewrite reality itself, can she trust anything she sees?” Curtis Gwinn (Stranger Things) will executive produce Mind MGMT alongside Richardson and Goldberg.

David Leitch’s Bullet Train will hit theaters on August 5th, and you can check out a review from our own Chris Bumbray right here. Idris Elba will next be seen in Beast, a survival thriller in which the actor plays a recently widowed husband who returns to South Africa with his two daughters only to be hunted by a ferocious, man-hunting lion. The film will hit theaters on August 19th.
