A NEW HOPE blew audiences away with its stellar visual effects and production design, with the futuristic tech and vehicles looking as real as anything you found in…whatever kinds of shops existed back in the 70’s. One of the earliest pieces of equipment that made audiences shout “I want that!” was Luke’s (Mark Hamill) Landspeeder, which is he used to go find R2-D2 , and in which Ben Kenobi (Alec Guinness) uttered the famous line, “These are not the droids you're looking for.” Ah, so many memories in that fine automobile. Though it’s taken forty years to get here, you can now own your very own Landspeeder to zip around the neighborhood with…if you're five years old of course.
The new motorized toy comes courtesy of Radio Flyer and is an adorable recreation of the beloved STAR WARS vehicle, fit with a dashboard, lights, sound effects, and room for two in case your child wants to pick up their crush next door for a joy ride. At a retail price of $499.99 you may save money just buying them an Xbox, but when you see your child barreling down the street at 5 mph you’ll be secure and confident knowing you’re doing parenting right.
This good parenting award can be pre-ordered at Toys R' Us.
