Amazon is keeping details on the characters that will be populating their series inspired by the 1997 slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer (watch it HERE) – and the 1973 Lois Duncan novel that film was based on – under wraps, but we do know the names of several actors who will be playing these mysterious characters. Earlier this month, we heard that Annabelle Comes Home's Madison Iseman is taking the lead, and is joined in the cast by Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, Brooke Bloom, and Bill Heck. Now we can add another name to the list: Sonya Balmores has signed on to play a recurring role on the show.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is filming in Hawaii, and Balmores' résumé is packed with Hawaiian productions – including movies titled A Midsummer's Hawaiian Dream and Maui. Also on the list: Hawaii Five-O, Magnum P.I., Soul Surfer, and episodes of NCIS, Ballers, Lucifer, and Roswell, New Mexico. Balmores may be best known for her roles in the film Den of Thieves (where she was credited as Sonya Chung), and for her role in the short-lived, Marvel Comics-inspired TV show Inhumans.
Preacher and Gossip Girl alum Sara Goodman is writing the I Know What You Did Last Summer series, with Craig William Macneill directing the pilot. The show has the following synopsis:
In a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night.
Goodman is executive producing the series with Shay Hatten, Erik Feig, Original Film's Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty, and Atomic Monster's James Wan, Rob Hackett, and Michael Clear. Sony Pictures Television co-produces with Amazon Studios. Macneill is an executive producer on the pilot.
