Jim Gillespie, the man who brought us I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER and the considerably less noteworthy VENOM, is set to return to the teen thriller genre with TAKE DOWN, reports Variety. The flick will feature an international cast of actors from the U.S., Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East in what sounds like an action-suspense piece in the TOY SOLDIERS mold.
TAKE DOWN focuses on the wayward offspring of international billionaires, sent by their parents to a tough-love school in the remote wilderness. When the school is taken hostage by a group of sophisticated kidnappers, the kids take the situation into their own hands.
Alexander Ignon (the co-writer of Ron Howard’s RANSOM) has written the script and has started working on a sequel already, which I suppose means hopes are high for this one.
Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales and is introducing the project to buyers at Filmart and at Cannes.
