We first heard about the zombie found footage "horrormentary" I AM ALONE two years ago, when a teaser trailer was released. Since then, the movie has been making the festival rounds and racking up the accolades, with its next screening scheduled to happen at the Phoenix Comicon Fan Fest tomorrow, December 4th, at 4:30pm. The screening will be followed by a panel and Q&A with director/co-writer Robert Palmer, producer/co-writer Michael A. Weiss, and star Gareth David-Lloyd, who you may know as the Torchwood/Doctor Who character Ianto Jones.
I AM ALONE tells the story of
a small town being infected, almost instantly, by an unknown virus while an adventure reality show is being filmed in the area. The TV host's video logs, found a few days after his own terrific infection, may contain the clues that will help the authorities find a cure and save the world from the apocalypse.
Along with David-Lloyd, the film stars Gunner Wright, Rory Zacher, and Marshal Hilton, and features over 300 extras from the area around its filming location of Montrose, Colorado.
I'm not much for found footage, but this looks like it may be one of the rare good found footage horror movies, judging by the full trailer that can be viewed below.
