I was a little surprised when I remembered that the first season of Hunters actually debuted on Amazon last year, but as it dropped before COVID-19 took over our lives, it feels like it's been out there for a hell of a lot longer than that. Hunters follows a diverse band of Nazi Hunters in 1977 New York City who discover that hundreds of escaped Nazis are living in America. And so, they do what any bad-ass vigilante squad would do: they set out on a bloody quest for revenge and justice. But they soon discover a far-reaching conspiracy and must race against time to thwart the Nazis’ new genocidal plans.
Amazon renewed Hunters for a second season last summer, and Deadline has now reported that Jennifer Jason Leigh has signed on to star in the new season. Leigh will starring alongside Logan Lerman and Jerrika Hinton as Chava, a top Nazi hunter. It's not clear if Al Pacino will be returning for the second season in any form, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
Jennifer Jason Leigh will next be seen in The Woman in the Window alongside Amy Adams, Gary Oldman, Anthony Mackie, and Julianne Moore. The Joe Wright film will debut on Netflix on May 14, 2021. Leigh will also appear in Lisey's Story, a limited-series adaptation of the Stephen King novel for Apple TV+ that also stars Clive Owen and Julianne Moore.
