Hulu's sci-fi anthology series Dimension 404 has already assembled an intriguing cast, including Lea Michele, Joel McHale, and Patton Oswalt. However, these two newest additions to the six-episode original series are perhaps my favorite so far. The two new actresses, who will be starring together in one of the episodes, are Megan Mullally and Constance Wu.
Mullally (pictured above) is well known for comedy roles, having appeared in Will and Grace, Parks and Recreation (with her husband Nick Offerman), Childrens Hospital, and Party Down, so this will be an interesting change of pace for her. As far as I can tell, her only genre-adjacent role was a small part in ONCE BITTEN, starring Jim Carrey.
Constance Wu is also a comic personality, who made a splash recently on the ABC sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. The show is decent, but her performance is a powerhouse role that will split your gut like Jason Voorhees with a machete. She will be appearing in another horror project, Rebekah and David McKendry's Christmas horror-comedy ALL THE CREATURES WERE STIRRING, which is currently in production.
Mullally will be Director Stevens, "a hardened, no-nonsense military commander who oversees a top-secret, cutting-edge NSA project tasked to fight terrorism." Wu plays opposite her as Jane, "a military psychologist on active duty, who wants nothing more than to spend Christmas leave with her wife and daughter. However, the U.S. government cancels her plans and re-assigns her to a much more vital task: help the NSA’s unusual but most valued agent overcome his performance issues in order to stop a deadly terrorist attack."
Premiering in 2017, Dimension 404 will also star Sarah Hyland, Ashley Rickards, Ryan Lee, and Sterling Beaumon.
