As far as I can tell, every single human person on the planet older than, maybe, two, is fuc*ing bonkers excited about the new, mysterious series from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King called CASTLE ROCK. And each and everyone one of us cried out in one voice “what the ever-loving-sh*t is it about??
Rumors flew and theories were debated. Thankfully we don’t have to debate any longer (well, not SO much, at least) because Hulu has FINALLY released a synopsis for the series!
Peep it here!
A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland.
Castle Rock is an original suspense/thriller — a reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories. A teaser for the project, released by Bad Robot on Friday, has garnered more than 1 million views.
If that wasn’t cool enough, Hulu has officially given the series the greenlight for a 10-episode first season, with production set to begin this year! I think I need to go lie down…
CASTLE ROCK is named after the town featured in many of King’s novels, shorts, and novellas. Castle Rock tales include Cujo, The Dark Half, The Dead Zone, Needful Things, Stand by Me, and The Shawshank Redemption.
CASTLE ROCK reunites Hulu, King, and Bad Robot after they collaborated on 11.22.63. The series will stream exclusively in the U.S. on Hulu at a date TBD.
