Chris Hemsworth has been set to play Hulk Hogan in an upcoming biopic for some time now and Hogan himself is giving us an update on Hemsworth's physical transformation.
Hemsworth has been training nonstop for months between THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER and the Hulk Hogan biopic and the goal has been to beef up his muscles to match the size of Hogan's "24-inch pythons." Hogan posted comparison photos of himself from his days wrestling and Hemsworth which was supported with a tweet that read "He's already there! He's ready BROTHER!!!" Of course, in jest, the wrestling Hall of Famer added "But is he good looking enough to play me?" You can check out Hogan's tweet below:
Chris Hemsworth spoke about the Hulk biopic back in July and the actor claimed he was planning to get to his biggest size ever for the part:
"As you can imagine, the preparation for the role will be insanely physical. I will have to put on more size than I ever have before, even more than I put on for Thor. There is the accent as well as the physicality and the attitude. I will also have to do a deep dive into the rabbit hole of the wrestling world, which I'm really looking forward to doing."
The Hulk Hogan biopic is expected to detail Hogan's rise to stardom in the 1980s when Hulkamania was reaching a fever pitch in popularity. The wrestler established himself as one of the all-time greatest when he defeated the Iron Sheik to win the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in 1984. Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and managed to maintain pop culture relevance through reality TV. It's uncertain if the biopic will touch on all of these facets of his life but he's certainly a larger-than-life persona that seems perfect for the biopic treatment. Beyond Hemsworth, there hasn't been news on casting but the film will reportedly reunite JOKER team Todd Phillips and Scott Silver, with Phillips directing and Silver co-writing the script with John Pollono.
What do YOU hope to see in the Hulk Hogan biopic? Do YOU think Hemsworth has what it takes to play the wrestling legend?
