House on Haunted Hill (1999) – WTF Happened to This Horror Movie?

The JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel is getting the week started with a new episode of the WTF Happened to This Horror Movie? video series! Directed by William Malone from a screenplay by Dick Beebe, House on Haunted Hill is a remake of a 1959 classic that was directed by the legendary William Castle, working from a script by Robb White. The ’99 version has the following synopsis:

A millionaire with theatrical tendencies, Stephen Price invites a number of people to stay in a vast creepy building that used to be an insane asylum. Stephen, accompanied by his bitter wife, Evelyn, offers a million dollars to anyone who can stay the whole night without leaving out of fear. When Stephen and Evelyn become trapped with their guests, they quickly realize that the house really is haunted — and the spirits dwelling within are very angry.

The film stars Geoffrey Rush, Famke Janssen, Ali Larter, Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, Bridgette Wilson, Max Perlich, Jeffrey Combs, Lisa Loeb, and James Marsters.
