On the surface, House of Hammer could be about any number of subjects. Perhaps the legendary British horror production company Hammer. Or maybe the house MC Hammer had to sell after filing for bankruptcy. OK, we had to open with some lightheartedness because things are about to get pretty dark.
Now that it is available, details are coming out from House of Hammer, Discovery+’s three-episode miniseries detailing not only Armie Hammer’s troubles, but his great-grandfather, oil magnate Armand Hammer. Armie has allegations of abuse, rape and cannibalism against him, while Armand is depicted as abusive, manipulative and a liar, to say the least. Oh, and it seems Armie’s grandfather, Julian, was a bit of a sicko, too, as he was a drunk who once offered his son a million dollars for his girlfriend. So, think about that next time you’re worried about your seat at the Thanksgiving dinner table.

House of Hammer does sound a little bit like tabloid fodder–especially with a Hollywood player in the spotlight–but the details do sound juicy enough to pull in viewers to Discovery+’s miniseries.
