Will there be a sequel to Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare?

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

This weekend we saw the release of Blumhouse's new PG-13 teen horror flick TRUTH OR DARE. The film performed fairly solid at the box-office snagging a respectable $19 million so it only makes sense that thoughts would now turn towards how to produce a sequel.

Well, recently Daily Dead caught up with the original film's director Jeff Wadlow and asked him what he thinks about a possible TRUTH OR DARE 2.

Jeff Wadlow:

I always approach every film with the philosophy that I want to leave it all on the floor. I don't want to feel like I held anything back. When I finish shooting a movie, if I'm not so exhausted that I can barely stand, then I did something wrong. Every idea I had that I thought was feasible is in this movie. That being said, if the movie is a success and I'm asked to come up with other good ideas, there are other stories that could be told through the filter of a supernatural game of truth or dare. But certainly, at the time, and for the past year, any good idea I had that could be in this movie, is in this movie.

Fair enough. Never a bad philosophy to leave it all on the table. Do you think Blumhouse's TRUTH OR DARE needs and/or deserves a sequel? Make sure to hit us up and let us know in the comments below or on social media!

Synopsis:

A college student in Mexico who is conned into playing a supernatural version of Truth or Dare. The game doesn’t stop and follows her back home.

The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow and stars Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Sophia Taylor Ali, Nolan Gerard Funk, Hayden Szeto, and Aurora Perrineau. TRUTH OR DARE is now playing in theaters nationwide.
