Trailer: Spanish killer dog movie Prey comes to DVD in April

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The feature directorial debut of José Luis Montesinos looks sort of like a Spanish take on the Stephen King classic CUJO, except instead of having a rabid dog trap a mother and her young child in a car, Montesinos has set a rabid dog loose on a person with different vulnerabilities, a young quadriplegic girl who has been left alone in a house with the dog.

Written by Montesinos and Yako Blesa, the film is titled PREY (but has also gone by the title ROPES) and has the following synopsis:

With the sorrow for her sister’s death still very recent, Elena, a young quadriplegic, has retired to a country house along with her father. There she has the help of Athos, a Belgian Shepherd Dog specially trained to help her. But the creature who is supposed to be her best friend has contracted a strange disease… and has turned into her worst enemy.

Paula del Río, Miguel Ángel Jenner, and Jordi Aguilar star.

Strand Home Video will be giving PREY a DVD release on April 21st, and copies can be pre-ordered HERE

The trailer for PREY is embedded above, so check it out and see if this is something you'd like to own on DVD. It looks pretty good to me.
