A trailer has been released online for director David Moscow's DESOLATION, which is described as being a psychological thriller in the vein of Roman Polanski's THE TENANT.

Dominik Garcia-Lorido, Brock Kelly, and Raymond J. Barry star in the film, which was written by Craig Walendziak and Matthew McCarty.

The story:

Small town Katie (García-Lorido) meets heartthrob actor Jay (Kelly). Jay charms Katie, brings her to L.A. where she falls hard for him. When Jay gets a movie and has to leave town, Katie awaits his return. That’s when everything begins to unravel. Katie is robbed, her keys and wallet taken. When she reports it, the police question and then attack her. Terrified, with no money, and stuck in L.A., she keeps calling her friends at home, but just gets a 'wrong number.' Frantically, she asks Jay to wire her money and come back, but neither he nor the money show. When Katie's home town newspaper is delivered to her door in L.A., it includes her obituary. And she realizes there is some greater evil at play.

DESOLATION will be getting a theatrical release in New York and Los Angeles courtesy of Parade Deck Films on January 26th, with a nationwide rollout to follow. Gravitas Ventures will then be bringing the film to streaming platforms in April.

The trailer can be seen below, and it looks pretty interesting, taking twists and turns I wouldn't have expected from a film that's said to show "why you should never fall in love with a movie star".
