Trailer for zombie western Dead 7 resurrects ’90s boy bands

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

When the post-apocalyptic zombie Western DEAD 7 was filming in Montana last summer, we saw some interesting imagery in pictures from the set; stylistic choices that you might not expect from a film that was masterminded by one of the Backstreet Boys (co-writer/co-director Nick Carter) and has a cast packed full of other boy band members. Now that imagery can be seen in action, as a trailer for the film's upcoming Syfy premiere has been released online.

In addition to writing the script with Sawyer Perry and directing the film with Danny Roew, Carter also stars as Jack, a reluctant hero who must unite

a ragtag band of gunslingers who must rid a small town of a zombie plague in a post-apocalyptic West.

The heroes and villains are played by the likes of Carter's wife Lauren Kitt Carter; fellow Backstreet Boys A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough; N' Sync's Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick; Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees; Jacob Underwood, Erik-Michael Estrada, Dan Miller, and Trevor Penick of O-Town; Delious Kennedy from All-4-One; Jon Secada, Frenchie Davis, Chloe Lattanzi, Carrie Keagan, and Debra Wilson.

Produced by The Asylum, DEAD 7 is set to air on Syfy on April 1st.

Buzzfeed got the exclusive on the trailer, which can be viewed below or on their site.
