THE RAID director Gareth Evans teamed with THE GUEST star Dan Stevens for his new film, the upcoming Netflix release APOSTLE, and a trailer has been released online to show that their collaboration looks to be just as badass as you would hope an Evans-Stevens combo would be.

APOSTLE is described as "a harrowing occult fable", and the story begins in

London, 1905. Prodigal son Thomas Richardson has returned home, only to learn that his sister is being held for ransom by a religious cult. Determined to get her back at any cost, Thomas travels to the idyllic island where the cult lives under the leadership of the charismatic Prophet Malcolm. As Thomas infiltrates the island’s community, he learns that the corruption of mainland society that they claim to reject has infested the cult’s ranks nonetheless – and uncovers a secret far more evil than he could have imagined.

Michael Sheen, Lucy Boynton, Mark Lewis Jones, Bill Milner, Kristine Froseth, and Paul Higgins are also in the cast.

I wasn't sure what sort of movie APOSTLE would be, and I'm glad to see that there's definitely a horror vibe to this story, with a creepy cult and a masked, blood-splattered maniac mixed in with some of Evans' trademark hard-hitting fight scenes and brutal violence.

I'm very much looking forward to watching APOSTLE when it premieres on Netflix on October 12th.
