Earlier this week we learned that Ivan Reitman was stepping down from the helm of the long-gestating GHOSTBUSTERS 3 following the death of Harold Ramis, and would now be acting as a producer and helping in the search for a new director. While Reitman's departure from the director's chair was disappoining news to say the least, there is now reports that THE LEGO MOVIE and 21 JUMP STREET's duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller may be in talks to take the helm for the next GHOSTBUSTERS film.
Nikki Finke, formerly of Deadline, is reporting that Lord and Miller are being eyed for the directing gig for GHOSTBUSTERS 3, sending out the following tweet:
Hot duo to direct #Ghostbusters3? My sources say Phil Lord & Chris Miller ('Lego Movie', '21 Jump St') in talks to replace Ivan Reitman.

There's nothing solid yet, but considering this duo's track record (all of their previously-released films have gone on to gross over $200 million at the global box office and have been a hit with critics and fans alike) I wouldn't mind seeing them take a crack at GHOSTBUSTERS.
