The Dark Crystal prequel series coming to Netflix; teaser here!

It was only a few weeks ago we let you guys know that DON'T BREATHE director Fede Alvarez was set to make a sequel of sorts to the Jim Henson classic THE LABYRINTH and today we have news that the director of TRANSPORTER 2 will be taking the reins of a prequel to THE DARK CRYSTAL.

Yes, the godd*amn Dark Crystal. Now I know a lot of you may be big fans of this film but for me, this is one of the freakiest flicks I have ever seen. It's those damn crow-bird evil sumbitches the Skeksis. I don't dig on those things so I will be skipping out on this upcoming series, thank you very much.

But all the same, I feel the need to tell you guys about the upcoming series because I'm sure a lot of you were fans of the film growing up. So here we go.

THE INCREDIBLE HULK director Louis Leterrier will be teaming up with Netflix to produce, along with the Jim Henson company, a 10-episode prequel series to the eternally freaky puppet flick called THE DARK CRYSTAL: AGE OF RESISTANCE.

This prequel series will take place many years before the events of the original film and will be shot in the U.K. The series will star an ensemble of "fantastical, state-of-the-art creatures" created by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop and Brian Froud, the original feature’s conceptual designer.

10-episode series from The Jim Henson Company starts shooting in Fall 2017.
