Tales from the Darkside pilot casts Kris Lemche; plot details revealed

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

The CW’s “Tales from the Darkside” pilot has cast its lead: Kris Lemche. Lemche will apparently be in every episode of the anthology series, which will otherwise have an all new cast each week.

With that news comes some clues as to what we can expect from the rebooted “Tales,” which is being overseen by author Joe Hill (Horns) and producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Per Deadline:

The anthology series will feature only one regular character, Newman (Lemche). A weathered and tortured young man, Newman is the guide to the unsuspecting who come across The Darkside. Newman – a man with his own desperate, wrenching secrets – knows exactly what’s causing the terrifying Darkside Events that drive the series. What he doesn’t know is how to stop them.

Interesting. Obviously this means that while The CW is mostly staying true to the show’s anthology roots, it’s adding a little something extra in order to serialize it. Just how much Lemche’s character will be featured in each episode remains to be seen.

As for the actor himself, he has plenty of genre experience, having appeared in movies like FINAL DESTINATION 3, ROSENCRANTZ AND GUILDENSTERN ARE UNDEAD, MY LITTLE EYE and GINGER SNAPS.
