A couple weeks ago, the developers of the upcoming Friday the 13th: The Game shared the stats screens for the ten camp counselors that make up the "cast" of the game, the characters that we'll have the option of playing as when we sit down for a round of F13.
Every round will also have iconic slasher Jason Voorhees stalking and slashing those counselors, and someone will get to play as Jason in multiplayer matches. There are seven versions of Jason to choose from in the game, replicating the looks the character had in FRIDAY THE 13THs parts 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9, with a special new design of the character crafted by FX legend Tom Savini, a version called "Hell Jason", thrown in for good measure.
The stat screens for all seven of the game's Jasons have now been revealed and can be seen below, giving us a close-up look of the designs and also offering a preview of each version's strengths, weapons, and weaknesses.
Jason is brought to life in the game through a motion capture performance by Kane Hodder, the man who played the hockey masked killer in parts 7, 8, 9, and JASON X. Hodder was joined in the game's cast by Kristina Klebe as counselor Jenny Myers; Thom Mathews, reprising the role of Tommy Jarvis from JASON LIVES: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI; and Jen Burton, who voiced Jason's mother Pamela Voorhees for "The Pamela Tapes", audio recordings that players will be able to collect during a match and listen to later in the menu system. Those audio clips were written by JASON LIVES writer/director Tom McLoughlin.
Friday the 13th: The Game was made with the cooperation of Sean S. Cunningham, director of the original FRIDAY THE 13TH. Series composer Harry Manfredini provided the score. In addition to "Hell Jason", Savini also designed some the kills.
This extremely cool looking game is scheduled to be released on May 26th. If you'd like to pre-order a copy, head over to F13Game.com.
