It was just yesterday we shared the news that the upcoming Hulu, Stephen King and J.J. Abrams series CASTLE ROCK has started filming. And if that news wasn't cool enough, today King himself finally breaks his silence about the mysterious series.
King sat down with USA Today to talk about his new series MR. MERCEDES and eventually he was asked about CASTLE ROCK. King told them he had "no plans to write the series" and that "at least one of the stories that has a Castle Rock background will figure in the TV series."
You can read the full quote below but then make sure to hits us up in the comments below and let us know what Castle Rock tale YOU hope he's referring to on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
Stephen King on CASTLE ROCK:
I don’t have any plans to write for it but I’m in contact with (executive producer) J.J. Abrams. We’ve talked about a couple of interesting ideas, and I know at least one of the stories that has a Castle Rock background will figure in the TV series. It’s a little like sending your kids off to college: Here’s what I’ve got for you, I’ve raised you right, hopefully, you’ll go off and you won’t get into trouble. Sometimes they do anyway!
CASTLE ROCK synopsis via Hulu:
A psychological horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, “Castle Rock” combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The first-of-its-kind reimagining explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories and characters.
CASTLE ROCK is written by Dustin Thomason and Sam Shaw, and executive produced by Stephen King and J.J. Abrams. The 10-episode first season has not yet been given a release date.
Filming is expected to run until January!
I'm thinking NEEDFUL THINGS makes the most sense.
