This really has been the year for Stephen King adaptations. First, we have THE DARK TOWER hitting us in August, then IT in September, then Spike TV's THE MIST, GERALD'S GAME, and, of course, the TV series based on his novel MR. MERCEDES.
We heard a little while back that King himself visited the set and I showed you a pic from said set visit, but today Stephen King took to Twitter to let us in on some cool info:
The MR. MERCEDES series is really good. And if you watch closely, you just might see yours truly.

Nice. Looks like King not only thinks the series is "really good" but am I wrong in assuming he means he has a cameo in the series by that second part? No, I'm not wrong. Now the only question will be, how big is Mr. King's part in the series…
I doubt he has a major role, but that's not to say it will be a mere walk-on role either. In addition to several cameos, King has, after all, showed up on Sons of Anarchy in the past and had more substantial roles in flicks such as CREEPSHOW and THE LANGOLIERS, so we might be getting more King than we think come time for the series to premiere. (His last credit was a bit part in Under the Dome).
And that sounds good to me!
MR. MERCEDES first season will run 10-episodes. David E. Kelley is the showrunner and it stars Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Jharrel Jerome, Mary-Louise Parker (see below), Justine Lupe, Scott Lawrence, Kelly Lynch, Ann Cusack, Robert Stanton, Holland Taylor, and Breeda Wool.
MR. MERCEDES is set to premiere on the Audience network fall 2017.
