Sony buys high-school monster-movie spec Lockdown at Franklin High

You by chance catch the 2008 zom-com DANCE OF THE DEAD? If you did and liked it, this might be a good thing for you to hear…

Deadline is reporting that the team behind DANCE – writer Joe Ballarini and Gregg Bishop (above) – have just sold their spec script LOCKDOWN AT FRANKLIN HIGH to Sony in a preemptive deal. Word is Michael Bay, Platinum Dunes and Benderspink are in talks to jointly produce the supernatural high-school monster-movie.

LOCK DOWN AT FRANKLION HIGH is about a straight edge teen girl and her rebellious, socially outcast brother as they try to escape from their prison-like high school which has been locked down and plunged into anarchy and pandemonium due to the attacks of a ravenous, supernatural monster.

Sounds like it could be pretty decent, we’ll wait to see who directs and stars to get before getting too hyped up though. If it’s about high-school, then it’ll likely aim for high-schoolers. Could mean PG-13 when all is said and done. A slippery slope, but I do dig the whole prison element mixed with a supernatural monster.

How about you? You down to attend FRANKLIN HIGH?
