Sci-fi show Debris, compared to The X-Files, ordered to series at NBC

Some pilot episodes of potential television shows weren't able to make it through production, or start filming at all, before the pandemic lockdown hit, but one pilot that was almost complete was for the sci-fi drama Debris, which is set up at NBC and has been compared to The X-Files and MEN IN BLACK. The producers were able to edit together the footage that had been shot and fill in the gaps with additional visuals, similar to how an unfinished episode of the NBC series The Blacklist was recently completed with sequences of animation.

NBC was so impressed with the pilot for Debris that they have officially ordered the show to series.

Written by Almost Human creator J.H. Wyman, Debris stars Riann Steele and Jonathan Tucker as 

two agents from two different continents and two different mindsets who must work together to investigate when wreckage from a destroyed alien spacecraft has mysterious effects on humankind.

Wyman, who also executive produced the sci-fi series Fringe, is executive producing Debris through his company Frequency Films, alongside Jason Hoff. Legendary and Universal Television are co-producing with Frequency Films.

NBC made the series order just in time, as the cast's options would have expired today if they hadn't.

Debris sounds interesting, and since The X-Files appears to be over (again) maybe this will be a decent replacement for it.
