Safe Neighborhood characters don’t look safe in new images

Chris Peckover Safe Neighborhood

If the neighborhood in director Chris Peckover's thriller SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD lived up to the title, it wouldn't be much of a thriller. Thankfully, a new batch of images have been released online that prove the characters in this film are definitely not safe.

Scripted by Peckover and Zack Kahn, SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD dreams up a nightmarish Christmas:

Set in a quiet American suburb on a snowy evening on the lead up to Christmas, Ashley, the regular babysitter for Deandra and Robert Lerner, has to defend their twelve-year-old son from strangers breaking into the house – only to discover that this is far from a normal home invasion.

The film, which has been described as HOME ALONE meets SCREAM, stars Olivia DeJonge, Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould, Virginia Madsen, Patrick Warburton, Dacre Montgomery, and Aleks Mikic.

The new images feature scared characters hiding, one who has been taped up by a villain who was clearly in the Christmas spirit, and a shot of Oxenbould with a yellow substance splattered on his face. That image gives me flashbacks to a scene in THE VISIT where Oxenbould got something even worse on his face.

SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD will be making its debut at Fantastic Fest next week.
